COVID-19, climate change and other global crises clearly highlight the growing fragilities in societies and nature. Especially in situations of fragility, conflict and violence (FCV), systems-informed evaluation processes, methods and evidence can help accelerate the transformational changes and strategic support needed to strengthen resilience and deal with unpredictable, fluid situations. States and evaluation associations can make important contributions in this regard. Session participants will be introduced to relevant evaluation approaches and challenges, and to IDEAS’ latest ‘How To’ Guide on evaluation in fragile, conflict and violent settings (EvalFCV).
